A tool that when activated, monitors how often you use each of the visible toolbar icons. I had an idea for a feature that could solve some toolbar clutter. There will be no further updates or security fixes to Google Toolbar for Firefox. Eventually, you can add additional warning in dialogue where user approves extension that it will add new toolbar. Google Toolbar for Firefox has been discontinued For details, see the announcement. I didnt download the IE version, but Im sure its just as good. Scroll to the Google Toolbar add on, click it, and choose This add-on still works.
Each add-on row now has a new button: Compatibility. At the top of the screen a yellow alert triangle will tell you that you have incompatible add-ons.

Especially the spell check, hover-over translator, and the forward/back buttons for searches. Once the upgrade is complete, go to Add-ons under the main menu. There are much worse things than toolbars and these are spyware/hijacking. Anyone download the newest Google toolbar for Firefox If you didnt I highly recommend it. Sorry, I can't see any significance of asking for toolbars separatly. So if Google/Yahoo installed something, they ask user to approve that.

Disabling extensions is already easy, as well as toolbars (right click on toolbar and enable/disable any toolbar). As expected, Google has released a version of its toolbar software for Firefox, along with two other extensions that integrate Google functionality directly into the Web browser. Besides having control over what gets installed (checkmarking required for each extension/toolbar), also more control disabling and uninstalling (completely) any toolbar (and extensions in general) should be offered.
